Kensington’s Future: The Sector Plan Process Begins
by Donna R. Savage, Land Use Chair
Kensington Heights Citizens Association

What will Kensington look like in the years ahead? We have a unique opportunity to help shape that look!

On Wednesday, March 21, the nearly yearlong process of updating the Kensington Sector Plan will kick off with an evening meeting at Kensington Town Hall, 3710 Mitchell Street. The Coalition of Kensington Communities (CKC), an umbrella group of which KHCA is an active member, has been working with the Town of Kensington and M-NCPPC Community Based Planning’s Fred Boyd to schedule this planning process.

The format of the Sector Plan planning process will be a steering committee with topical working groups. The kickoff meeting will be structured in an interactive Information Station format, which will allow for more one-on-one dialogue.

YOUR INPUT WILL BE VALUABLE and you can participate in this important planning process! You can attend the March 21 meeting and gather information about the process AND you are encouraged to volunteer to serve on one of the working groups that will meet and present findings during the next 12 months.

If you cannot attend the kickoff meeting, it’s never too late to participate! A Web site has been set up specifically for information about this process and will be active soon: www.TOKplanning.org
You can peruse the current 1978 Kensington Sector Plan online at:
